The Ethnographical Background of Kodály’s Children’s Choirs – led by Anna FŰRI

A significant part of Kodály’s children’s choirs are based not simply only on folksongs but folk customs – among others Pünkösdölő, Villő, Gergelyjárás, – and children’s games – like Ciróka, Katalinka. During the sessions of the workshop, students get an insight into these folk customs and games, thereby getting closer to the authentic performance of the works.
